Chief Financial Officer

Location: Harlem, NY

Chief Financial Officer Proven track record of progressive career moves in the area of finance with the Internet and corporate finance. Position reports to the Chief Executive Officer. Must be a strategic thinker with a proven record for implementation of strategy. Insurance background a plus and ability to manage reserves. Exceptional leadership of senior financial executives (lion tamer).

This is a Synthesizer role that integrates information for leadership decision making, and serves as an adviser to the CEO and to the Board. Has to show evidence of the successful management of multiple and diverse areas of finance. Primary Direct Reports: SVP and Chief Actuary, VP Controller, VP Financial Planning and Analysis. Oversees all financial operations from a strategic long range perspective to day to day operations. Oversees and directs, treasury budgeting, tax, accounting, long range forecasting and insurance activities for the organization.

Directs the controller in providing and direction procedures and systems necessary to manage proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and services. Establishes all major economic objectives and policies for the company. Directs and coordinates company's financial affairs according to the financial principles and government regulations.

Plans and directs new operational procedures to obtain optimum efficiency and reduced costs. Establishes extensive line of credit: Directs receipt, disbursement, and expenditures of money and capital assets. Directs the activities concerned with control, safekeeping, and accounting for assets and securities. Directs the preparing of reports which outline company's financial position in area of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present and future operations.

Promotes organization in financial markets to assure sources of capital. Appraised the organization's financial position and issues periodic reports on organization's financial stability, liquidity, and growth.

Coordinates tax reporting programs and investor relations activities. Analyses, consolidates, and directs all cost accounting procedures together with other statistical and routine reports. Oversees and directs the preparation and issuance of the corporation's annual report.

Directs and analyzes studies of generic economic, business, and financial conditions and their impact on the organization's policies and operations. Analyses operations issues impacting functional groups and the whole institution and determines their financial impact.

Evaluates and recommends business partnering opportunities. Established and maintains contacts with stockholders, financial institution and the investment community. Experience with public sector regulators a plus. CPA preferred but not required.

Director of National Network Sales

BA.com has a singular vision. We want to build the dominant network of Black sports news and information about Black athletes. Through this network, we will empower athletes to build relationships with the community and major corporations in order to foster understanding of problems within the Black community. Through this network and these relationships, we will facilitate a significant change in psychological and emotional conditions in Black communities world-wide.

Responsibilities:

Sell large, national sponsorship advertising packages; create out-of-the-box deals to effectively sell product.
Execute and work with Executive Management to further develop current sales strategy.
Manage National Network Sales Team
Set examples for team members to follow
Oversee all materials used for sales presentations
Establish quotas and allocate resources
Enhance performance of team members through training
Conduct regular performance reviews
Attend to and address all personnel issues

Skills / Experience:

Five (5) to seven (7) years of sales experience
Minimum two (2) years successful experience in a national sponsorship advertising sales management role at an Internet company
Experience selling direct to clients preferred; Agency sales experience is helpful
Willing to travel up to 25%* Understanding of the internet medium is mandatory
Bachelor's degree required

Account Executives

BA.com, the leader in reporting news about and for Black athletes around the world, is looking for Account Executives to sell its advertising and sponsorships to fortune-500 companies nationally.

Requirements:

Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years Direct Sales experience selling Internet and special event advertising.

E-Commerce Technology Development Leader

Responsibilities:

Manage e-commerce development projects and deliver high quality systems.
Coordinate with other technology development teams & with outside contractors.
Manage overall development roadmap; identify priorities with business managers.
Evaluate new technologies and recommend appropriate usage.

Requirements:

5 -10 years experience implementing technical systems, including project management.
3+ years experience with current web technologies. Experience with E-markets, (including buyer or seller sites).
Strong experience with managing consulting engagements.
Familiarity with coding (Java and C++), Database (Oracle preferred), OS (NT and UNIX) and XML.
BA required, Masters in Computer Science or equivalent experience strongly desired.
