“Jamison’s Acting Debut in The Guardian”

Pro swimmer Tanica Jamison, 2003 graduate from the University of Texas at Austin, is making her debut in something other than swimming. The Speedo sponsored 13-time All American and National Champion tries her luck as an actress in the new movie “The Guardian.”  

Jamison was selected to play the role of one of 20 rescue swimmers going through the elite training program.

No doubt the best Black swimmer of the 70's was Enith Brigitha of Curacao, Netherlands Antilles. She was the first Black female swimmer. And she was the first Black female swimmer to win two Olympic medals (in 1976), both bronze, one for the 100m and one for the 200m freestyle.

  Correia, a University of Georgia grad and sprint specialist, has competed in numerous international competitions.  The Olympics being the highest competition in her career, Correia has also competed at the 2001 & 2003 World Championships earning a gold medal in the 4x100 free relay in 2003, a silver in the 4x100 free relay and gold as a member of the 4x200 free relay 2001.
