Mo Cheeks is the right man because he's got the right temperament for the young talent he oversees. The players have proven they will play for him. Above all else, there is an upside, because he's only getting better.

Boxing's business model belongs in the early 20th century, if not the 19th century. Contrast the boxing business model, such as it is, to the Mixed Martial Arts. Mixed Martial Arts are beginning to experiment with new models that will ensure Mixed Martial arts survival and the continued decline of boxing.

This is not a case of gotcha in the pursuit of political correctness. That will be the reaction from the likes of Don Imus and his audience, not to mention others whose knees jerk in that direction when hate speech is called hate speech.

Ryan Howard nearly tripled his 2006 salary, and bully for him. He had an awesome season last year, won the National League most valuable player award, and put a lot of fannies in the seats at Citizens Bank Park.
