In a BASN article from June of 1999, it was stated that the Blue Marlin Clothing Company failed to contribute earnings gained from their Negro League apparel, during that year to surviving players and or their families.
It has now been learned that in fact, Blue Marlin contributed to nine surviving players and their families. The company also stated that they consulted with several former Negro League players in the designing and development of the apparel, including Negro League information on the merchandise hangtags.
The staff of BASN regrets the error.
