Seth "Mayhem" Mitchell before a sparring session

Stepping into Mitchell's corner to congratulate him after his victory was none other than legendary boxing figure Shelly Finkel, who has managed more world champions than anyone else over the past two decades.

Finkel had a long visit with Mitchell in the fighters' dressing room before Mitchell's bout. Mitchell is being scouted by Oscar De La Hoya’s group, Golden Boy Promotions.

Mitchell's pro debut was one of the most highly anticipated events in many years, according to Gary "Digital" Williams of FightNews.com and "Boxing Along the Beltway".  

"Mitchell faced a very crafty veteran in Mike Miller, who'd already had 10 fights", said Williams. "It was a tough challenge for a pro debut. Seth came in and handled it very well. I was impressed with his speed and his hand and foot movement. Being a former football player, you could really see his athleticism come into play."

"The Fight Doctor" Jerome Spears called Mitchell "calm under fire", saying his transition to the pro game was nice and smooth.

"You want to see what your fighter can do in terms of adversity", Spears added. "Mitchell not only rose to the occasion, he fought above and beyond what you want your fighter to do."

Mitchell has also earned praise from boxing legend Lou Duva.

“This kid is already the complete package", Said Duva. "When I found out that Seth has only been fighting competitively for eight months, I nearly hit the floor. No one develops that quickly unless he has God given talents."

"He’s extremely committed and extremely coachable.” 

Mitchell, a native of Brandywine, Md. is a graduate of Michigan  State University. He completed his amateur career as the Eastern Regional Golden Glove Champion with a record of 9-1, with all victories coming by way of knockout or TKO.

Mitchell’s next bout is scheduled for late February.
