MEAC Releases 2010 Brackets
Morgan State men, N.C. A&T women are tabbed as top seeds

MEN'S BRACKET
For the third straight season the Morgan State Bears earned the No. 1 seed and an early round bye to compete for the tournament title and an automatic berth to the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament.
In-state rivals Bethune-Cookman (No. 7) and Florida A&M (No. 10) opens men's play on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Howard (No. 8) and North Carolina A&T (No. 9) will face off in the final game of the night beginning at 9 p.m.
Wednesday's play begins with Maryland Eastern Shore (No. 6) squaring
off against Coppin State (No. 11) beginning at 3 p.m. The defending
tournament champion MSU Bears will take to the court at 7 p.m. The Bears
will face the winner of the Howard/N.C. A&T matchup.
Delaware State secured the No. 2 seed with an 11-5 mark. DSU will take to the court for the first time in tournament play on Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. against the winner of the Bethune-Cookman/Florida A&M matchup.
South Carolina State wrapped up the No. 3 seed early and will compete on Thursday evening beginning at 6 p.m. against the winner of the Maryland Eastern Shore/Coppin State game.
Norfolk State (No. 4) will matchup against Hampton (No. 5) on
Thursday night beginning at 8 p.m.
WOMEN'S BRACKET
The Lady Aggies of North Carolina A&T earned their third tournament first-round bye and will open up play on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. They will face the winner of the No. 8 Coppin State/No. 9 South Carolina State matchup.
Tuesday’s games will begin with No. 7 Maryland Eastern Shore taking on No. 10 Delaware State at 11 a.m. South Carolina State earned the eighth seed with a tiebreaker over Coppin State and will meet the Lady Eagles in the first round at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.No. 6 Bethune- Cookman will face off against No. 11 Norfolk State in the final women’s game of the day at 4 p.m.
Wednesday’s women’s basketball action begins at 10
a.m. with Hampton taking on the winner of the UMES/DSU game. The Lady
Pirates and Morgan State Lady Bears both finished the season with a 12-4
mark and will share the conference’s runners-up trophy.
Hampton won the tiebreaker over Morgan State to secure the No. 2 spot and the Lady Bears earned the number three seed. They will take on the winner of the No. 6 Bethune-Cookman/No. 11 Norfolk State game on Thursday at Noon.
Howard secured the number four seed and will matchup against Florida A&M on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. Florida A&M (9-7) won the head-to-head tiebreaker over Bethune-Cookman to earn the number five seed.
Coppin State (5-11), Delaware State (4-12) and
Norfolk State (0-16) are seeded ninth through 11th, respectively.
The 2010 MEAC Basketball Tournament will conclude on Saturday, March 13 with
the men's and women's championship games. The men's finale will tip off
at 2 p.m. in a live nationally televised matchup on ESPN 2. The
women's championship game is set for 5 p.m. and will air taped delayed
on ESPNU on Sunday, March 14 at 11 a.m.
