The Lady Tigers will open the regular season at home on Friday playing host to Louisiana-Lafayette University at 7:00 p.m. TSU will also play three other home games at Houston on Dec. 5th, and play host to Texas-Pan American on Dec. 18th and Sam Houston State on Dec. 20th.

Voted as the preseason player of the year, Grant Maxey -- a 6-foot-7, 180-pound, junior forward from Toledo, Ohio -- was a key contributor to the Tigers’ success last season. As a sophomore, he averaged 14.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.5 steals per game.

MEAC Announces Men's Preseason Hoop Honors

Tywain McKee led Coppin State to their fourth MEAC Tournament title and recorded 33 points and shot 6-of-8 3-pointers to seal the 62-60 win over Morgan State. He also was named to the All-MEAC Tournament Team and was selected as the 2008 Most Outstanding Performer.
