1. USC QB Mark Sanchez: Right now the best in the country. He led his team in a rout over Ohio State, going 17-of-28. The best player for the best team.
2. Missouri QB Chase Daniel: As good as last year. His numbers are staggering. Is at 72.2% and has 10 TD throws. Missouri would be ordinary without him.
3. Florida QB Tim Tebow: He won it last year so he has to be the favorite this year. Not off to that great a start but fabulous notoriety. Watch him improve as the games get tougher.
4. BYU QB Max Hall: He was beyond great in the 59-0 throttling of UCLA, a team that has already beaten Tennessee. A school with a history of great QB's.Yet another one.
5. UConn RB Donald Brown: Our surprise pick. The Huskies are 3-0 and Brown is the reason. The Redbank Catholic HS great went out on a limb and chose UConn. Right now, he is the best player in the Big East. Baylor will see that in person this Friday.
