Heisman Trophy CONNECTICUT -- Here's a brief look at my top five Heisman Trophy award candidates entering this weekend's action.

1. Missouri QB Chase Daniel: He is the consensus No. 1 candidate. It is his to lose. He had 20 consecutive completions against Buffalo.

2. BYU QB Max Hall: Maybe the best arm. Has thrown for 1,284 yards and 15 TDs. Will be a great pro.

3. UConn RB Donald Brown: But for him, the Huskies would have lost to Baylor and would not be undefeated. He is very difficult to tackle. The Baylor coach was very impressed with him. Friday will be a huge test against Louisville.

4. USC QB Mark Sanchez: He is a great one, but so is his time. He will need to shine and take over from the running backs. It may not happen.

5. Texas Tech WR Michael Crabtree: He has 29 receptions for 457 yards and six TDs.
